Hi, I’m Laura Quinn
The Woman Behind FondRecipes
About Me
I’m Laura Quinn, 34 years old, living in a quiet town near Portland, Oregon. I’m married to my college sweetheart, and I’m a proud mom to two amazing kids: Emma (7) and Liam (4).
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, and I’ve found my passion and purpose as a food blogger and founder of FondRecipes.
What do I love most? Home baking, storytelling, soaking in family moments, and helping others fall in love with cooking just like I did.
My Early Life
I was born in 1991 in a small town in Iowa. I grew up in a warm, loving home where the kitchen was the heart of everything. I can still remember the smell of cinnamon rolls baking and the sound of my grandma sharing family stories while stirring a pot of soup.
Even though money was tight, my childhood was full of joy — especially when it came to food. Cooking was how we connected, celebrated, and cared for each other.
As a little girl, I’d climb onto a stool next to my mom to help whisk pancake batter or frost cupcakes. But it was my grandma who taught me that the real magic of food isn’t about perfection — it’s about love and care.
My Journey
When I was a teen and into my twenties, life got busy. Between school, part-time jobs, and studying media and communication in college, cooking took a backseat for a while.
But everything changed when I got married and had my first child. Suddenly, food mattered again — just in a different way. I didn’t have hours to spend in the kitchen anymore. I needed recipes that were quick, joyful, and made for real life.
So I started experimenting… and sharing.
The Birth of FondRecipes
In 2020, right when the world needed comfort and connection more than ever, I launched FondRecipes. It began as a simple blog to share my favorite beginner-friendly desserts and meals. But it quickly became something more — a trusted space for busy moms, total beginners, and anyone looking for food that tastes good, feels doable, and brings joy to the table.
I realized there were so many people just like me — overwhelmed, tired, unsure where to start in the kitchen. FondRecipes became my way of saying:
My Life Today
These days, life is all about balance. My mornings start early — usually with a hot cup of coffee and some journaling while the house is still quiet. My days are filled with testing recipes, writing blog posts, and connecting with my small (but amazing) online community of food lovers — many of whom are over 40 and just now discovering their love for cooking.
I believe in celebrating the little things — a perfectly baked cookie, a shared laugh at dinner, or a recipe that just works.
No, I’m not a professional chef. I don’t pretend to be. I’m just a real person who used to feel lost in the kitchen — and now I help others find joy in it.
My Core Values
